Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
Covenant
Adopted in November 1989

We, as a Fellowship, affirm our covenant to explore and embrace openly the fundamental mysteries of existence, to nurture a sense of family, and to enhance the quality of life for ourselves, our children, and the larger community.

We further covenant with one another to respect the contribution of each person in our activities and our discussions, seeing truth in the juxtaposition and interaction of differing views.

We recognize and honor the diversity among us. We will be gentle with one another in our disagreements and will strive to learn from one another. We commit ourselves to be present for support and assistance to one another in generosity of spirit, sharing both our needs and strengths.

We join together to develop further our spiritual, rational, emotional, and aesthetic natures, drawing from inner and outer sources of truth; we pledge to combine our strengths in active commitment to social justice, cultural and religious diversity, harmony, and respect for the interdependent web of all existence.

We promote peace with justice in global affairs. We strive to foster cooperation and openness in our community, and aspire for our Fellowship to be a model of our vision for the world community. Thus, we affirm and promote the ideals stated in the Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

We commit ourselves to provide spiritual, emotional, and material support for these endeavors.
