Choir Director Kay Raplenovich moved to Eureka in 2023 and began searching for a home in a spiritual community. HUUF has claimed her heart and has provided a venue for sharing her art. Before retiring, Kay was a classical singer performing as a recitalist and a soloist in operas and orchestra works. She has taught classical voice at university and in an active home studio as well as directing numerous volunteer choirs. Kay believes that the voice is the expression of the soul with the instrument we carry in our bodies. She has dedicated much of her being to guiding folks to healthy beautiful singing. When not making music Kay loves to gather with her son’s family, garden, weave, cook and walk her ancient dog on the beach.
The Fellowship Choir welcomes anyone who loves to sing; no experience is necessary. The focus of rehearsals will be healthy beautiful singing and will include learning new repertoire for sharing, building the voice of each individual and the collective voice of the ensemble. Sharing ones spiritual journey in song enriches the discovery and weaves the many paths into uplifting beauty. All are Welcome!

“Group singing is a powerful catalyst for social change and community building. We sing for the joy of creating something beautiful together in the moment.” Maggie McKnight
Community song circles welcome all voices, bringing together people who love to sing, regardless of experience level. Song circles don’t focus on performing for an audience; instead, learn songs from a variety of traditions by call-and-response, and sing for the joy of creating something beautiful together in the moment. Group singing is a powerful way of connecting with each other, and with something deep within ourselves—and the music we make as we support each other through song call forth the singing voice that is every human’s birthright. Fred and Wilma Concert Fundraiser
07/11/2026 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmJoin us for an afternoon of great music for a great cause! HUUF is thrilled to welcome Fred and Wilma, one of Humboldt County’s most beloved acoustic duos, for a special concert fundraiser supporting our community.
Love, pain, passion, humor!
Fred and Wilma are Peggy Martinez and Jeff Kelley; sharing their mutual love for a diverse range of folk, rock, country and R&B with joy, finesse and energy. Peggy brings songs to life with a powerful voice, rich with tone and emotion, holding it down with solid drumming. Jeff brings skillful acoustic guitar technique, adding backing vocals, and sometimes singing songs of his own creation. Together, Fred and Wilma enchant and entertain.
This event is a fundraiser for HUUF, and your support helps sustain the programs, outreach, and community work that make our fellowship what it is. Suggested donation is $25, and in keeping with our values, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. We want this to be an afternoon that everyone in our community can be part of, regardless of what they’re able to give. If you’re able to donate generously, we deeply appreciate it the difference!
Bring a friend, bring a neighbor! This is a wonderful, low-key way to introduce someone to HUUF, or just to enjoy a great afternoon of live music together. Light refreshments will be available, and there’s plenty of seating, so come relax, tap your feet, and sing along.
Purchase your tickets in advance here!
We can’t wait to see you there!
