Access to most healthcare services in the USA is dependent not on the patient and provider but on a third party: an insurance company or government entity. Due to the high cost of all healthcare most people cannot afford the cost without some insurance. Our health care cost, including vision and dentistry, per person is one of the highest in the world. Additionally the USA has some of the poorest health outcomes as measured in childbirth death rate, and life expectancy. Most all countries from England, China, Russia to South America have a universal healthcare system that is successful and fair to all citizens.
