What we choose to notice can save lives. Together we explore attention as a sacred act of care, holding the realities of addiction alongside the possibility of recovery. Through reflection, shared story, and practical naloxone (Narcan) training, we practice compassion in action. This service invites us to reduce stigma, deepen understanding, and meet ourselves and one another with presence, clarity, and the courage that makes hope possible — one day at a time.
Congregational Administrator Rebekah Paez will share reflections from her participation in the Clinton Foundation’s Empowering Faith Leaders Overdose Response Network, an interfaith cohort working to equip clergy and congregations to respond to addiction with compassion and understanding. Rev. Cindy Woods of St. Albans Episcopal Church will join in a shared reflection on faith, science, and the sacred work of destigmatizing addiction.
The service will include a brief naloxone (Narcan) training and distribution. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to respond safely. This practical training is offered as an act of community care and embodied compassion.
